Currently Prestige does not have any uses. The amount of Prestige points gained depends on how many upgrades you have unlocked and how much XP you have. Prestige points can be gained by reseting your game. If you won the game (by clearing all 45 waves), you will also receive an extra 450XP (for Single defense), 900XP (for Double Defense), or 1350XP (for Triple defense). ![]() "new" is the new highest wave survived, "old" is the old highest wave survived.W a v e s s u r v i v e d × ( W a v e s s u r v i v e d + 1 ) × D i f f i c u l t y m o d i f i e r 2 The XP gained is calculated by the formula: you can be different in a bad way.You can gain XP by clearing the game. you wouldn't sell a car without seatbelt just to be different from other cars. Stuff like "just because other games are doing it doesn't mean I need to do it" this is true but there are good reasons that people are asking for these features. it is just unfortunate that a lot of quality of life functionalities are missing and the developer in the discord Q&A seems to not care. Look I saw a lot of potential in the game and I really like the art style. This is definitely possible, but if I need to actively give myself less option to have fun then id rather play a better TD game. Why not try to replay it as a challenge mode without certain cards or something? Yes this is what a tower defense game is, but late game waves take multiple minutes to complete, I don't need that much time to think about placing 1 or 2 towers. Part of this game's strategy is to optimize priorities/levels/placements in between waves. What do you think? do you see it as an idle game or do you just see it purely as a TD?ĭo you feel the lategame is slow and think thats fun or do you disagree that the game get sluggish lategame? Complete two waves of enemies to unlock a new type of tower. Destroy enemies to earn money to buy more towers, upgrade existing towers to a new type and level up a towers stats. Place towers on the battlefield to prevent endless waves of enemies from getting from the left side to the right side. But i don't think that my suggestions are that ridiculous at all. Rogue Tower is where the randomness of a rogue-like meets the strategy of a tower defense. If the creator wanted to design an idle game based on tower defense that's fine. So they do something different but they still add stuff for players to do so you dont have downtime.Īt the end of the day its not my game and if people are having fun that's great. like i said before, some TD's decided to not add a speedup button but they give you stuff to do during the wave. What? making something different just for the sake of being different isn't good design. If I did everything in this game the way "every other tower defense game does it" it would be unremarkable at best. The argument that the game needs a speed up button "because it is a tower defense game" I find entirely unconvincing.but i personally would take a few performance issues over a sluggish gameplay experience. Its understandable you don't want to spend all your time on just optimizing as it might take a lot of time. There are some performance spikes at times during the late game. Please feel free to contribute by creating new articles or expanding on existing ones. While the game does have very few performance issues and could very easily handle the speed up early to mid game. This wiki is about the indie rogue-like tower defense game Rogue Tower, made by Die of Death Here, you'll find all the data you need about each tower, upgrade, monster and much more. This is a self fulfilling prophesy, as if you don't add a speedup button you turn a tactical game into a idle game. Since a tower defense game is mainly idling while your towers do the work. Speed up buttons are bad design (in this case). no need to analyze the wave as you already know which type of towers you are going to place and which upgrades your going to pick. lategame in rogue you have already upgraded certain towers so there are not really any big choices to make anymore and your just spamming towers in the best positions. Now the genre of autobattlers also consist of a few seconds of placing and a few minutes of watching but you need to analyze the battle because you often need to tweak your build to that of your opponents. This is true but it IMO a bad reason, as all those other games do that for a good reason.there are TD game without a speedup function but those give you things to do during the wave like shooting or farming money or piloting one of the turrets yourself. I have since i posted this found the FAQ on the discord were it says that just because other TD games have a speedup function doesn't mean rogue needs it too. I guess we just have different opinions on that subject which is fine. But I'm not having fun in the late game, you get to pick and upgrade and place a few towers which takes like 10 seconds then wait for several minutes doing nothing waiting for the next 10 seconds of playtime.
